Introduce the project

Desiring to contribute to the development of high quality human resources in Ho Chi Minh City, this project is a bridge to help learning outcomes meet the needs of employer, and more importantly, employer find the right people for the organization. In addition, the project wishes to highlight a message “college students or vocational students are also competitive in the labor market”.

For student, the project will help developing work competence, soft skills, mindset and attitudes so that students can quickly adapt to the work environment immediately after graduation.

For college and vocational school, the project will provide a set of employability skills training curricula that colleges and schools are able to deliver at their campus.

For corporate, the project will provide a set of employability skills assessment to use as a reference for recruitment and training. In addition, the project will provide profile of potential candidates to employer for future recruitment process.

Target audience

Student: college final year, completed full academic studies, English level at CEFR: A2, would like to improve career potentials and employable skills.

Business: corporates who are in services, entertainment, travel – tourism, technology – software, finance – banking, consumer goods (FMCG), heath-care – beauty, advertising – communication and so on… would like to search for one young with passion, pro-active, business/career mindset and ability to adapt to the business context.

Professionals: individual who passionate in training, soft-skills coaching would like to contribute their expertise to society by sharing knowledge, experiences and skills to guide the students in this project.

Project focused content

Project focused content is aligned to the employability skills learning outcomes of TQUK – an awarding body in vocational qualification and LanguageCert – an awarding body in International Language Qualifications in UK. The training content is designed base on the development of workplace “competency framework” for each of learning outcome. The curriculum will focus on 11 basic and essential soft-skills that employer sought in a candidate, such as:

1.Employability Mindset

2.Understanding Work Principle

3.Business and customer awareness

4.Dealing first day at work

5.Setting targets

6.Understanding Motivation

7.Managing time

8.Understanding responsibilities in the workplace

9.Following instructions

10.Working in a team

11.Problem solving in a place of work

Beside these 11 soft-skills, the project also incorporates the art of “public speaking” and “personal image” deliver by professional MC at HTV – MC Thanh Thảo (Hugo).

Language of training: bilingual in 90 guided learning hour and 100% English in 60 self-study hour with facilitator.

Project focused activities

Project focused activities in:

1.Panel discussion workshop about developing competency framework (Employability Skills)

2.Training & Learning: 60 students divided into classes within 3 months. Total training duration: 90hrs and self-study with facilitator: 60hrs

3.Employability workshop: 1 session per 2 week between employer and students. Duration: 3hrs/session.

4.Corporate learning tour: student register to join the visit tour to employer’s place of work

5.Documentary and interview

6.Assessment round: 60 students must participate in assessment round with employer as independent assessor. Employer may want to propose a job interview if necessary.

Project values

Student:

-Be equipped 11 essential soft-skills for improving employability and upgrade English level to CEFR: B1

-Able to get the certification issued by TQUK if passed the assessment round

-Opportunities to meet and learn from professional employers in HCMC

Employer:

-Access to another quality source of potential candidate for future recruitment

-Able to receive a package of employability competency framework and assessment check-list of the project

-Able to get the package of training material for in-house learning and development

-Opportunity to highlight the employer branding throughout the project.

Curriculum:

-Specifications provided by TQUK and LanguageCert which are accredited in UK

-Training material and content developed by Ed2Career and professional associates

-Council of Advisor

Assessment:

-Provided and aligned to TQUK and LanguageCert assessment criteria

-Externally approved by TQUK before conduct assessment.

Workshop:

-Contextual workplace related content

-Agenda designed by professional MC

Event and activity:

-Organize and facilitate by Ed2Career and Sun&Moon (tbc)

-Advertising and communication by Saigonevent (tbc)

Training and coaching:

-Professional coach and trainer only

-Current working at HCMC

-Associate would like to enhance training or coaching skills
